As of yet, there’s still no word on the Xbox Series X pricing or release date.
The original story follows below.
Original story:
Following numerous rumors and leaks, Microsoft provided a brief first look at the Xbox Series S and fixed the XSS’s price point at $299.
The company made the announcement in a late-night tweet, following a leak from Microsoft insider Brad Sams.
More information is set to follow at some point in the near future, “near” because the Xbox Series X is set to launch in November. However, Microsoft didn’t confirm whether the XSS will launch alongside the XSX.
In fact, Microsoft didn’t confirm much other than the console’s price and that it’s the smallest Xbox ever with the same next-gen capabilities. How close to the Xbox Series X it comes is another matter, though.
Sams predicted the XSS will be a less powerful version of the XSX, and Nico Partners’ Senior Analyst Daniel Ahmad confirmed the information, saying Microsoft is swapping high-end power for affordability.
As always, spec predictions and suggestions that the XSS is digital only are rumors until Microsoft confirms them. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Xbox news as it develops.
